What are veneers?

Dental veneers are wafer-thin ceramic or porcelain shells placed over the front of existing teeth to improve, enhance, or restore their appearance. Veneers can:

  • Cover chips and cracks
  • Hide stains
  • Correct the appearance of misaligned teeth
  • Fill in gaps between teeth

You can also use veneers to change the shape of your teeth. To create the perfect smile for you, Dr. Massood S. Nouri custom designs and fabricates veneers at his in-office laboratory.

Are veneers strong?

Yes! Dr. Massood S. Nouri makes veneers using IPS e.max® porcelain. The material is four times stronger than regular porcelain, so you can trust your veneers not to crack or chip under normal circumstances.

e.max porcelain also retains the eye-catching, light-reflecting properties that make regular porcelain veneers look so natural. Furthermore, e.max porcelain veneers are stain-resistant.

How long does it take to get veneers?

Dr. Massood S. Nouri understands your busy schedule. At his practice, you can receive high-quality, permanent veneers in just two visits.

During your first visit, Smiles by Nouri prepares your teeth for veneer placement. To do so, a local anesthetic is administered. Then, he removes about half a millimeter of enamel from each tooth receiving veneers.

Next, Dr. Massood S. Nouri makes an impression of your teeth that he uses at his in-office laboratory to personally design and create each porcelain veneer. As a master ceramist, Dr. Massood S. Nouri takes pride in making veneers that complement your overall appearance through their size, shape, and shade.

To protect your teeth and gums while Dr. Massood S. Nouri handcrafts veneers to your exact dental needs and aesthetic goals, the practice then applies temporary veneers with removable glue.

At your next visit, Smiles by Nouri removes your temporary veneers, then cleans, polishes, and etches your teeth in preparation for bonding. Before he places your permanent veneers, Dr. Massood S. Nouri uses a water-based adhesive solution to make sure they fit just right.

Once he’s satisfied, Dr. Massood S. Nouri applies dental cement to your teeth, lines up the veneers, and places them. Finally, he dries the dental cement with a specialized light.

If you treat them well, your veneers can last for up to 15 years.

Do you want to transform your smile with a quick and long-lasting solution? If so, veneers might be the right choice for you. To find out more, contact Smiles by Nouri online or over the phone today.
